Two New Entry Gates in Pauri Garhwal Side to Access Corbett

Finally, the demands of the Kotdwar people paid off as the two new entry gates on the Garhwal side of Uttarakhand have been constructed to access Corbett National Park. Out of the two, one gate is located on the Pakhro side and the other at Sendikal Ratwadhang in the Kotdwar region of Pauri Garhwal District. This step provides the visitors of the national park to explore the Pauri Garhwal parts of Uttarakhand thus, ultimately boosting the tourism and economy of this division.

The new entry gates to Corbett and Tiger Reserve were inaugurated on 27th November, 2017 in the presence of the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat. It has to be noted that in order to make tourists’ visit fruitful, ecotourism circuits in Corbett National Park are also being developed where a number of forest guest houses are built under every circuit. Six safari vehicles were also flagged off during the inauguration by state’s CM. Besides, the operation of safari vehicles into the national park from Kotdwar will ultimately help attract tourists to these parts of Garhwal. Know more about Corbett Tiger Reserve here.

It also has to be noted that two-third part of the Corbett National Park is located in the Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand, yet there was no access given from the region to visitors. But now as the entry gates have been opened it’s a positive move towards wildlife tour as well as eco-tourism. Corbett Wildlife safari from the Kotdwar gates is also on the cards.
